Why are there so many PROBLEMS in the World today…YOU ARE THE WORLD!

“You are the world… without you, there is no world. You must understand the
whole of life, not just one little part of it. That is why you must read, that is why
you must look at the skies, that is why you must sing and dance, and write poems
and suffer and understand, for all that is life.” — Jiddu Krishnamurti
This is one way of understanding the statement: that the individual is the only
reality. And the world is nothing but the collectivity of individuals, so whatever it
is, it is a contribution of individuals. If it is ugly, you have contributed to its
ugliness. If it is full of hate, jealousy, anger, greed, ambition, you have contributed
to this whole hell in which we are living. You cannot throw the responsibility on
somebody else; you have to accept the responsibility on your own shoulders.

J. Krishnamurti’s statement that “You are the world” simply emphasizes the fact
that every individual, wherever he is, whatever he is, should accept the
responsibility of creating this world that exists around us. If it is insane, you have
contributed to that insanity in your own way. If it is sick, you are also a partner in
making it sick. And the emphasis is important – because unless you understand
that “I am also responsible for this miserable and insane world,” there is no
possibility of change. Who is going to change? Everybody thinks somebody else
is responsible.

One of India’s great emperors was Akbar. There is an incident in his life recorded
in AKBAR MAMAZ – “the biography of Akbar.” One day he was just chit-
chatting with his friends…. And he had around him the very best, wisest, most
creative people chosen from every part of the country. His court jester was
standing just by his side. By the way, you should understand it: in all the courts of
all great emperors there used to be a jester, whose whole function was to keep the
court from becoming too serious, to keep the court light, playful – once in a while,
an explosion of laughter. It was a great insight to have a court jester, and he used
to be one of the wisest men of those days – because they were not easy to come
by.

Birbal was Akbar’s court jester. And as they were discussing, Akbar slapped
Birbal – for no reason at all. Now you cannot slap the emperor back, but the slap
has to go somewhere – so he slapped the person who was standing next to him.
Everybody thought, “This is strange!” There was no reason in the first place.
Suddenly, as if a madness had got hold of Akbar, he slapped poor Birbal. And
that man is also strange. Rather than asking, “Why have you slapped me?” he
simply slapped the man who was standing by his side!

And that man, thinking perhaps this was the rule of the court, slapped the next
person. In a chain, it went all over the court. And you will be surprised: that night,
Akbar’s wife slapped him! And he said, “Why are slapping me?” She said, “That
is not the question; a game is a game.” He said, “Who told you that this is a
game?” She said, “We have been hearing the whole day long that a great game has
started in the court. The only rule is you cannot hit the person back, you have to
find somebody else to hit. And somebody has hit me – so your slap has come
back to you, the game is complete!” In this big world, thousands of insane games
are going on, and you are all participants – of course in very small measures,
according to your capacity. But remember, the slap is going to come back to you
sooner or later. Where else will it go? Whatever comes to you, remember, it is
your doing. Perhaps you have forgotten when you started it. The world is big, it
takes time. But everything comes back to its source – that is one of the
fundamental rules of life, not just rules of a game. So if you are suffering, if you
are miserable, if you are tense, full of anxieties, anguish, don’t just console
yourself that this whole world is ugly, that everybody else is ugly, that you are a
victim.

J. Krishnamurti is saying you are not a victim, you are a creator of this insane
world; and naturally, you have to participate in the outcome of whatever you have
contributed to it. You are participating in sowing the seeds, you will have to
participate in reaping the crop too; you cannot escape. To make the individual
aware so that he stops throwing responsibilities on others – on the contrary, he
starts looking inwards to see in what way he is contributing to this whole madness
– there is a possibility he may stop contributing. Because he has to suffer too. If he
comes to know that the whole world is nothing but his projection on a wider
scale.. Because millions of individuals have contributed the same anger, the same
hatred, the same violence, the same competitiveness, it has become mountainous.
You cannot conceive that you can be responsible for it: “I may have contributed
just a small piece…” But an ocean is nothing except millions and millions of
dewdrops. A dewdrop cannot think that it is responsible for the ocean – but the
dewdrop is responsible. Without the dewdrop there is going to be no ocean at all.
The ocean is only a name; the reality is in the dewdrop. To accept your
responsibility will change you, and your change is the beginning of the change of
the world – because you are the world. However small, a microcosm perhaps, but
you carry all the seeds. If revolution comes to you, it heralds the revolution for the
whole world. And when J. Krishnamurti says “You are the world” he is not saying
it only to you; he is saying it to everybody: You are the world. You change
yourself.

Be alert not to contribute anything that makes the world a hell. And remember to
contribute to the world something that makes it a paradise. This is the whole secret
of a religious man. And if every individual starts doing it, there will be a revolution
without any bloodshed.
“The moment you have in your heart this extraordinary thing called love and feel
the depth, the delight, the ecstasy of it, you will discover that for you the world is
transformed.”
“In oneself lies the whole world and if you know how to look and learn, the door
is there and the key is in your hand. Nobody on earth can give you either the key
or the door to open, except yourself.”
— Jiddu Krishnamurti

  1. The global game today is a form of musical chairs. We must get rid of at least ninety percent of the players to achieve the objective of the promoters of that game.
Versions of it can be seen in “Hunger Games”, “Survivor”, and, “The Weakest Link”.
    It is Machiavellian, not Christian.

  2. This quote ain’t gonna work because you know I am still a teenager but all over the world has problems and life isn’t beautiful life is like a wheel why? Example your in a highway driving at night but when your wheels or tires already broken the gas station is more than 50 miles away from here and you can’t even fix it and you don’t have tools to fix that’s how the life works you know? Many people always have problems around the world if the world has cheats like money’s or something I’m not sure if the world is so happy it’s like being 9999999999999999999999th people on the world going down to hell that’s the worst thing that I was born, you know what? I wish I was on the universe alone no people no animals only myself I can do whatever I want but living in this world feels very heavy.

  3. Thanks for the follow at Evolution Made Easier. I always appreciate when someone takes the time to do that, plus it helps lead me to what they’re up to, like this interesting, thought-provoking site of yours. BTW, you subtitle of “Uniting the world, One Love at a time” reminds me of the subtitle I have in my visioning workbook of “Creating new worlds one vision at a time.” 🙂

Best wishes and thanks for your contributions to the planet!

I’m a christian also think that if there is a God, he made us have problems to test us so we can learn from them and let us be a more sucessful person. I myself have ots of problems, but I think it’s fine, because I can learn how to deal with problems! Thankyou! I’ve learnt lots from this article

  5. Wonderful point! I wrote an article once “Peace, what are you giving and receiving”, about how the individual affects the whole, so instead of pointing a finger outward re; violence and war, to look inward at all the ways we are at war within ourselves.

Thanks for following my blog. I hope you continue to enjoy it!

  6. A Problem can only exist if you have no solution. There is a solution when you do want it. A problem can only exist when one unites with another person who shares not an equal mind.In such you loose control and that which is not of you is of them and that which is not of them is you. It is obvious that this world or the world you are in was and is good and can only become a problem, regardless of the belief of the problem, simply because you cannot make anything or do anything
good. You are only able to adulterate an existence.Example: If something, anything were to be CONSIDERED by an individual or entity of any specie to be good, clean, right, holy, or perfect and
you or any entity simply were to touch it, then that whatever or whoever it is will contaminate it as to a state of not being the same as it were and may not be acceptable to you or that entity again. This
word contamination is to be understood only in the sense that the issue referred to is different, this does not imply the common understanding of the word dirt. The understanding must be ” an altered” state. Example: If a child or young adult purchases a new bicycle and it’s color is red and the child or young adult did buy it per his/her will and takes it home and a sister or brother sees this
object (bicycle in this case) and likes the bicycle but does not like the color according to his or her will in desire and simply goes to paint it blue then a problem will exist for the buyer and cause an issue, that may become a problem for the other (brother or sister) in this case. The contamination will have been caused and the state is altered. Regardless of the fact that other problems (secondary) may be caused as to perhaps a contamination gotten paint on another surface at the
location the which the child or young adult did not take into consideration. The point/s made here an this example show always that problems begin through association with other entities or people,
including the will of God if one cares to view this this way. So the solution to most any known problem is that no problem actually existed until you involved something else, or someone else and that there now can only be solutions and not problems. Solutions are made by agreement to oneself and or to others. This is if you view life carefully will be a difficult task and seldom a perfect
but maybe an acceptable solution. Note also that Jesus said: “Be of the same mind one to another”. At the cross he said something quite different: “Father forgive them for they no not what they do”. In this one can learn that problems are on going and that one may look for a solution, without a guarantee that it will exist when you need it, because it is YOU that says I have a problem and expect another to not create one. For we all (They) have fault individually as Jesus said.

  8. So important this idea of looking at the parts of the world we do not like and taking responsibility for them. I remember during the high days (or low days, depending on your perspective) of the Bush administration, I was complaining away “Oh Bush this and Oh Bush that.” My husband looked at me and said: “Time to look at that part of YOU that IS George Bush and all that he represents to you.” I just about choked. However, I heeded the advise and began to look. My compassion began to grow and eventually, forgiveness came — for him, yes, but most of all for myself who had helped create that which I had complained about. Thanks for the reminder.
Blessings to you in this beautiful New Paradigm, Alia

  9. Hi 1 Earth
I have had probs with my Blog also.

It’s all perfect just the way it is, every thing grows out the dirt, how else would it grow. I look at the mountains and the Sea in Spain and I see spectacular beauty, I look at the governments and bankers of the world and I see greed lies and Corruption, I look at the Sun and the weather and I see change.
I look in my Heart and I see the connection to the people I love.
I see my stupidity, I see my anger and I feel pain. this is how I learn .The rose bush is nothing but razor thorns that will rip ones skin open . But then it blooms and all is forgiven. That is it. Forgiveness. What will bring forgiveness in you, because then you will find peace inside, then the external will not matter. The illusion of your pain will disappear.

    • Hello Russell, it appears change is the name of the game for 2013. Accelerated change for a higher purpose which transcend our linear logic and notions of “mind”. So we will continue to co-create, detach, re-member (as in piecing back together as a whole). No worries, “evil” serves it purpose and “matters” as much as “good”. What’s there to forgive if there is no self, where does the pain inflict upon? Let’s watch the divine play unfold and play our parts well shall we. None of this is real except for what we make it. Our connection is real in this very moment. I can’t say definitively about anything else, because I’m only focused in this response, knowing full well….

      • Hi 1earth
When one learns to forgive one becomes empty until that point if one recognises stance against anything then one is in fear and the play of ego. The void forgives everything to attain its nothingness.

We will suffer while we feel ourselves as self standing items, and we will be covered with happiness, luck, love of people and the divine protection when we realize that nothing and no one is separate from another.

    Thank you, Maddie! Lovely!

Luckily I’ve remembered your post and immediately checked. Sure enough, I had to unspam and manually approve both comments. Did you hear anything further from WP? I’ll research this matter further and let you know what I find out. Much love to you sweet sister, hang in there. 😀

Oh yes my comments are still being cast into spam folder )) And after commenting on people’s blogs, I have to write them direct messages and tell them I commented and look me up in a spam folder, plz 😀

I wrote WP support about it, they said they will take a look.. Waiting 🙂

And I never ever sent any irrelevant comment to anyone, dunno really why it happened ehh 🙂

      • Sorry this is happening to you Sofia, clearly this is not your fault. WP has to fix several issues with their platform. They even apologized to me for their delayed response, so I’m sure they are inundated with service requests. Believe it or not, they finally notified me of why my blog was suspended! It had to do with Affiliate Links and advertising which violates their TOS. I only have the Bloggers for Peace Badge and Lada’s book banner on my sidebar. Ironically, their policy forbids “advertised linking” in any form, regardless of money. I tried reasoning with them that I’m just promoting peace and spirituality without monetary gain. Apparently, their decision was final, so I’m starting this new blog. 😀 This time I’m backing up everything so I’m happy. I wish your Spam issue will be resolved soon, it must be frustrating having all your timely comments ending up in the Spam bin. Perhaps this might work: click on your Dashboard, then click on the Settings Tab and Discussions. Within the discussions page, there is a “comment moderation” tag. Next to it is an empty box with the description: “Don’t discard spam on old posts”. Perhaps you could try clicking on this selection, or change theme template to an updated version. I have a feeling when WP releases any kind of update, their older themes loses compatibility and stops working. Both these options are worth a try. Best wishes! 😀
