Monthly Peace Challenge: Teach your Children Well (B4Peace)!

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young said it all: we need to nurture our children with love and peace to create the future we envision living in. A better future for all. “Teach Your Children” is a song by Graham Nash.

Nash, who is also a photographer and collector of photographs, has stated in an interview that the immediate inspiration for the song came from a famous photograph by Diane Arbus, “Child with Toy Hand Grenade in Central Park.” The image, which depicts a child with an angry expression holding the toy weapon, prompted Nash to reflect on the societal implications of messages given to children about war and other issues.

You who are on the road
Must have a code that you can live by
And so become yourself
Because the past is just a good bye.

Teach your children well,
Their father’s hell did slowly go by,
And feed them on your dreams
The one they picked, the one you’ll know by.

Don’t you ever ask them why, if they told you, you would cry,
So just look at them and sigh and know they love you.

And you, of tender years,
Can’t know the fears that your elders grew by,
And so please help them with your youth,
They seek the truth before they can die.

Counter Melody To Above Verse:
Can you hear and do you care and
Cant you see we must be free to
Teach your children what you believe in.
Make a world that we can live in.

Teach your parents well,
Their children’s hell will slowly go by,
And feed them on your dreams
The one they picked, the one you’ll know by.

Don’t you ever ask them why, if they told you, you would cry,
So just look at them and sigh and know they love you.

…. and the next generation. ☼ Ya gotta LUV that Kazoo, lol.  ♥:D♥

      • Missed you too, Maddy! These past few months were hectic, but i’ll try to be on blogosphere more often now 🙂

Oh I’m so happy you liked Dina’s music! And it’s hilarious how she got you inspired to learn Russian! :))
I just can’t help admiring the capacity of your mind and how much info and knowledge it can embrace!

A featured post about Dina.. yaay you’ll make her feel like a star 😉 She wrote me she was amazed that so many people from USA and Europe left her replies on her music, while she only expected Russian audience to reply, for her texts are all in Russian :))

But that was a great surprise! And it again confirms that truly good music can reach to any heart and it speaks all the languages of the world ♥

    • Hi Sarah! If you click on the YouTube symbol on the lower right hand corner of the video, it opens up a separate video screen. The audio is much better than the embedded video in the post. Or you can attach separate external speakers/ headphones to the audio jack of your laptop to listen.
Thanks for stopping by and good luck! 😀
