New Yorkers deserve clean air, clean water and a healthy environment. That’s why this Earth Day, we’re continuing the fight against hydrofracking in New York. Will you fight with us? Right now, Governor Cuomo is accepting comments on his draft 2014 New York State Energy Plan. This plan is supposed to map out how New York will reduce greenhouse gas emissions 80% by 2050. But despite words about “clean” energy and colorful pictures of solar panels and wind farms, it leaves the door open to fracking in New York. Take a moment now to tell Governor Cuomo that natural gas expansion and hydrofracking has no place in New YorkClick here to submit your comment now! Hydrofracking pollutes water, lowers property values and will shatter our already fragile economy. A study by Ohio regulators recently linked hydrofracking to earthquakes in that state. An energy plan outlining New York’s green energy future must include a commitment to scaling back our use of natural gas and support a ban on hydrofracking. But this plan does neither. We don’t want fracking in our communities and this plan needs to reflect that. The deadline for submitting your comment is in just a few days, so act now and be sure to spread the word. Click here to tell Governor Cuomo that New York needs to lead on climate change with a real plan for the future that replaces fossil fuels with clean, renewable energy. Thanks for all you do,
