There is nothing wrong with anxiety.
Although we cannot control God’s time, it is part of the human condition to want to receive the thing we are waiting for as quickly as possible.
Or to drive away whatever is causing our fear. . . .
Anxiety was born in the very same moment as mankind. And since we will never be able to master it, we will have to learn to live with it—just as we have learned to live with storms.

July 14, 1099. Jerusalem awaits the invasion of the crusaders who have surrounded the city’s gates. There, inside the ancient city’s walls, men and women of every age and every faith have gathered to hear the wise words of a mysterious man known only as the Copt. And God Said, “Let There Be Laughter!”

Lol brilliant, u’r so spot on! 😀

Writing with Spirit

What makes you laugh? I’m sometimes embarrassed by the things that strike me funny. My twisted sense of humor reveals to the world that I’m not a nice church lady after all.

I will never forget the time I was walking down Pennsylvania Avenue in D.C. with a bunch of friends. A marine jogged by looking all fit and spiffy in his crew cut, military shortie-shorts, and tight t-shirt. Then he ran right into a No Parking sign at the edge of the sidewalk.

ideas, living and liberation

“Daily practice over time is a requirement of every becoming.” – Luv this statement!

“I’d also like to understand how this verse applies to my idea about finding a place to call home. Is my idea of finding a place to call home like becoming a physician, writing a novel or educating my kids?” – Be u’r own mystic, like Rumi, drop the “ideas” and live u’r reality. No need to fragment u’r lives in order to fit, Rumi is simply being Rumi, I’m sure when he’s writing- he’s not thinking about mysticism, poetry, or some guy, and yet he emcompasses all that and more.

If you want to live in u’r “perfect” environment, then make it work! There’s no separation, let Alice be Alice! So spend more in rent, use u’r prodigious god-given talents to pay for it.
i.e. u’r an incredible educator – offer home schooling/ tutoring for neighboring kids who need it. U’r an amazing doctor, use u’r home office as u’r medical practice and deduct the expenses and space off u’r income tax. The point is, think outside the box, there’s plenty of opportunity and ways to make it work, that’s being your own mystic!

PS Hope will always be there, waiting to move back into u’r heart. Best wishes Alice, thanks for the inspiration!☼
