What is more impacting than a blimp? And a bright green one, at that. And in sharp contrast against the red brown Utah backdrop. And one that says, “Illegal Spying Below”. And that flies over the NSA data center in Bluffdale, Utah. Perfect!!

New internet law in effect in Brazil

The Brazilian government’s new legislation aimed at protecting internet privacy and guaranteeing open access to the web came into effect on Monday in a bid to tighten security after the espionage scandal exposed by former US intelligence contractor Edward Snowden.

The ‘Marco Civil da Internet’ bill was signed into law in April by President Dilma Rousseff, and defines the duties and rights of Internet users and providers.

“The internet you want is only possible in an environment of respect for human rights, especially privacy and freedom of expression,” Rousseff said in a statement on her website after signing the law in April.

Internet security generated a lot of heated debate in late 2013 after reports that the US government had spied on Brazil’s private communications, including e-mails and phone calls…

Study: Habitual Marijuana Smoking Not Associated With Increased Risk Of Lung Cancer

Imagine that, smoking pot may even cure lung cancer. Something tells me cancer researchers are not gonna release this news in their medical “peer reviewed” journals lol. 😉
“Preclinical studies have documented that cannabinoids possess potent anti-cancer properties, including the inhibition of lung cancer cell growth.”

♪Zack de la Rocha with Zapatistas – RATM

Rage Against the Machine’s Zack de la Rocha with Zapatistas, originally produced in 1998 by Osiris Castañeda. Zack breaks down the connection between corporations, the US government and the ruling party of Mexico (PRI). He says of the Mexican government: “Despite all their tactics of rape and murder, they can not isolate the communities of resistance in Chiapas”.

Zack goes on to put into context the long standing historical challenges indigenous communities are faced with, “these campesinos have been so exploited, so down-trotten for five centuries.” He explains how indigenous communities are,”no longer able to produce a profit for the companies who have a vested interest in the resources of this area.”

Despite the obstacles, De la Rocha sees the Zapatista movement as a cooperative model that is moving communities in the right direction; as they create, “their own forms of development and social organization, their own forms of economic co-operation, and their own self-sustenance”.

Lyrics:
Yeah people come up

Yeah, we better turn tha bass up on this one

Check it,
Since 15 hundred and 16 minds attacked and overseen
Now crawl amidst the ruins of this empty dream
With their borders and boots on top of us
Pullin’ knobs on the floor of their toxic metropolis
But how you gonna get what you need ta get?
Tha gut eaters, blood-drenched get offensive like Tet
The fifth sun sets get back reclaim
Tha spirit of Cuahtemoc alive an untamed
Now face tha funk now blastin’ out ya speaker
On the one: Maya, Mexica
The vultures came, they tried to steal your name but now you got a gun
Ya this is for the people of the sun

Its comin’ back around again
This is for the people of the sun
Its comin’ back around again

Its comin’ back around again
This is for the people of the sun
Its comin’ back around again

Ya never forget that the wipe snapped your back, ya spine cracked for tobacco, I’m the Marlboro man uh
Our past blastin’ on through tha verses
Brigades of taxi cabs rolling broadway like hearses
Troops strippin’ zoots, shots of red mist, sailors blood on tha deck
Come sista resist
From tha era of terror, check this photo lens
Now the city of angels as they ethnic cleanse
Heads bobbin’ to tha funk out ya speaker,
On the one: Maya, Mexica
That vulture came ta try to steal ya name but now you found a gun
You’rehistory, this is for the people of the sun

Its comin’ back around again
This is for tha people of tha sun
Its comin back around again

Its comin’ back around again
This is for tha people of tha sun
Its comin’ back around again

Its comin’ back around again
This is for tha people of tha sun
Its comin’ back around again

Its comin’ back around again
This is for the people of the sun
Its comin’ back around

Of the sun
