♪”FORGOTTEN” – Music Themes

I was thrilled to participate in this week’s musical theme: Forgotten. Along with wonderful bloggers Johnny, Lisa and Bear, we’ll be selecting a few songs, melodies, clips which highlight our personal insight and interpretation of what it means to be FORGOTTEN. Without further ado…

My first selection features SIA, an incredibly artistic, expressive artist who reminds us to be authentically us. Every one of us without exception possess unique gifts and talents to offer and share with each other. The time we spend together is precious, and should not be forgotten.

“Soon We’ll Be Found”

Come along it is the break of day
Surely now, you’ll have some things to say
It’s not the time for telling tales on meSo come along, it wont be long
‘Til we return happy
Shut your eyes, there are no lies
In this world we call sleep
Let’s desert this day of hurt
Tomorrow we’ll be freeLet’s not fight I’m tired can’t we just sleep tonight
Turn away it’s just there’s nothing left here to say
Turn around I know we’re lost but soon we’ll be foundWell it’s been rough but we’ll be just fine
Work it out yeah we’ll survive
You mustn’t let a few bad times dictateSo come along, it wont be long
‘Til we return happy
Shut your eyes, there are no lies
In this world we call sleep
Let’s desert this day of hurt
Tomorrow we’ll be free

Let’s not fight I’m tired can’t we just sleep tonight
Turn away it’s just there’s nothing left here to say
Turn around I know we’re lost but soon we’ll be found

What life theme complete without Love? Exceptional love stories, songs, poems endure over time. Beethoven’s 3rd love letter to his immortal beloved was heart-wrenching, love never dies or be forgotten.
KD Lang pays tribute to the legendary Roy Orbison, serenading from her heartfelt soul, the classic “Crying”.
The King performs Willie Nelson’s unforgettable “Always on my mind”.
Memories forgotten, seasons change, but life goes on…   Pet Shop Boys “Only the Wind”
“When life is calmer I have no doubt
No angry drama, a storm blows itself out
A storm blows itself out”
Forlorn and forgotten era in time, consciousness evolving. “Flightless Bird, American Mouth” by Iron & Wine
“Have I found you?
Flightless bird
Grounded, bleeding
Or lost you?
American mouth
Big pill, stuck going down.”
A last minute addition! Dropping by Lisa’s post, I enjoyed listening to her awesome choices. One of the songs by Enigma – Gravity of Love, samples Carl Offs’ epic “O Fortuna” from Carmina Burana, a medieval Latin Goliardic poem (Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi) written early in the 13th century about the horrors of war. The fate and future of humanity lie upon lessons learned, lest we forget, doomed to repeat them.
To further that note, I’ll end it with Mozart’s foreboding “Requiem”. Confutatis and Lacrimosa from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Requiem Mass in D Minor, K.626
This is a powerful and reoccurring theme, embedded in the psyche of  humanity. Lord, let us not forget who we truly are, lest we be forgotten in the annals of time.
