‘THE END OF THE WILD’ GETS ITS CHINA PREMIERE
With this new film, Yao Ming takes the next big step in WildAid’s awareness campaign to end demand for ivory and rhino horn. The documentary follows Yao on a fact-finding mission to Africa, and transports audiences into the heart of the continent’s wildlife conservation crisis. “The End of the Wild” is running on Chinese Central Television and will get its U.S. release on Animal Planet this November.

REPORT: ‘EVIDENCE OF DECLINES IN SHARK FIN DEMAND, CHINA’
A new report from WildAid finds that prices of shark fin have fallen by 50%-70%, and sales have dropped by 82%. Of Chinese consumers surveyed, 85% said that they had given up shark fin soup within the last three years.

The WildAid PSA “Impress” starring Maggie Q has been selected as a finalist in the Short Shorts category of the Blue Ocean Film Festival. The festival takes place November 3-9 in St. Petersburg, Florida.

ILLEGAL SHARK FIN TRADER GOES TO COURT IN SAN FRANCISCO
The first case to be prosecuted since San Francisco passed its ban on shark fin has gone to trial. WildAid campaigned for the ban, and ABC 7 interviewed Peter Knights to get our take.
