The Drug War Started 45 Years Ago Today—Here’s How to End It For Good

Nixon’s top policy advisers, John Ehrlichman:

“We knew we couldn’t make it illegal to be either against the war or black, but by getting the public to associate the hippies with marijuana and blacks with heroin, and then criminalizing both heavily, we could disrupt those communities. We could arrest their leaders, raid their homes, break up their meetings, and vilify them night after night on the evening news. Did we know we were lying about the drugs? Of course we did.”

That says it all.

  1. “…too many are waking up en masse…” I’m not as certain. As long as there are religions, and as long as people volunteer for the military, I don’t see it. Do you realize that the main reason there are no jobs for young people, educated or not, is because “they” want them desperate enough to join the military; to become murderous mercenaries for the elites? Volunteerism is less politically volatile than a general draft although that should be coming soon. Perhaps the draft will cause that backlash every thinking person seems to be waiting, hoping, for and imagining as being just around the corner. I just hope you are right in your assessment, but that awakening has to happen globally now, not just in one country or two, to have any effect.

  2. I don’t suppose it would make much difference if I said that “the war on drugs” – or “the war on everything or against anyone” has been, is, and always will be a psy-op planned and implemented by the forces of repression, the status quo?

    • Exactly! Any “war” is psy-op on the ppl, it has always been a form of control. Worked better when the sheeple are unconsciously complicit, but too many are waking up en masse.
