UNITED STATES FLUBS ASSASSINATION IN CARACAS

Did the US try to assassinate Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro?

John Bolton, Trump’s veteran neocon national security adviser, told Fox News the US had nothing to do with the explosive drone attack during an appearance in Caracas that injured several people but left Maduro and his entourage untouched.

“I can say unequivocally there was no U.S. government involvement in this at all. If the government of Venezuela has hard information that they want to present to us that would show a potential violation of U.S. criminal law, we’ll take a serious look at it, but in the meantime I think what we really should focus on is the corruption and oppression in the Maduro regime in Venezuela,” said Bolton during an interview with Chris Wallace.

Only if you suffer from amnesia or lived under a rock for the last fifteen years would you believe this verified liar and terrorism conspirator. I’m not sure how many Americans believe Bolton’s denial, but considering the citizenry’s regrettable history of being taken in by lies and gross fabrications it is fair to say millions will believe their government wouldn’t do such a thing—never mind the obvious (if you bother to notice) Pilate stones strewn about in plain sight that tell a quite different story.

John Bolton can make such denials because the American people are ill-informed and many are quite frankly political retards. It’s more than intellectual laziness. Most Americans have been trained in government schools to accept unquestioningly a largely fictional history of the United States, especially in regard to foreign policy. Millions more wouldn’t be able to find Venezuela on a map.

After the people of Venezuela voted in the socialist Hugo Chávez in 1998, the US tried to foment a coup. This isn’t a secret. The coup attempt of 2002 was reported by The Guardian and other media outlets. It was revealed the US Navy had cooperated with the coup plotters and evidence emerged “of US financial backing for key participants in the coup,” Duncan Campbell wrote for the British newspaper.

“In Caracas, a congressman has accused the US ambassador to Venezuela, Charles Shapiro, and two US embassy military attaches of involvement in the coup,” Campbell continues.

“Roger Rondon claimed that the military officers, whom he named as (James) Rogers and (Ronald) MacCammon, had been at the Fuerte Tiuna military headquarters with the coup leaders during the night of April 11-12…

“In the past year [2001-2002], the United States has channeled hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants to US and Venezuelan groups opposed to Mr Chavez, including the labor group whose protests sparked off the coup. The funds were provided by the National Endowment for Democracy [NED], a nonprofit agency created and financed by the US Congress.”

NED has specialized in overthrowing governments for over 30 years. It might be considered a CIA contractor. “To maintain appearances, it has been agreed that, as a general rule, CIA agents and former agents could not be appointed to the board of directors,” writes Thierry Meyssan.

“Most high officials that have played a central role in the National Security Council have been NED directors. Such are the examples of Henry Kissinger, Franck Carlucci, Zbigniew Brzezinski, or even Paul Wolfowitz; personalities that will not remain in history as idealists of democracy, but as cynical strategists of violence.”

Former CIA boss and leading neocon James Woolsey admitted the US works to overthrow foreign governments. During an interview with Laura Ingraham on Fox News, Woolsey laughed about overthrowing governments and killing people.  He said the US engages in subterfuge and murder “only for a very good cause.”

There was another coup attempt in 2015 and this also failed.

After Donald Trump—who said during the presidential campaign he opposed interventionism—was elected his former oil corporation CEO secretary of state went down to Argentina and rallied South American countries—doubtless with the standard bribery technique—to support a coup in neighboring Venezuela, which coincidentally has the largest oil reserve in the world. It is estimated at more than 300 billion barrels. Venezuela also has an estimated 513 billion barrels locked up in the Orinoco Belt oil sands.

“Tillerson met with Argentine Foreign Minister Jorge Faurie. In a press conference, they both agreed on promoting regime change in Venezuela and declared that they were studying the possibility of sanctioning Venezuelan oil, prohibiting its sale or refining in the U.S., but feared that it would hurt citizens, as all other imposed sanctions already do,” the multi-state funded Telesur television network reported.

Within the last 12 months, US Vicepresident Mike Pence made 3 trips to Latin America to meet at least 8 presidents from whom he demanded support for a military intervention against our brother president of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro. Those are the Empire’s coup attempts.

Due to falling oil prices and the inevitable failed policies of a socialist government, Venezuela is verging on the status of a failed state.

However, the situation has been made worse by sanctions denying access to US capital markets after Maduro was re-elected. Several executive orders were signed by Trump, including one designed to destroy a digital currency—appropriately titled the Petro—Venezuela engineered for oil transactions with Russian assistance. Iran and Russia are also designing cyber currencies to avoid US sanctions.

The latter is a direct and serious threat to the US-imposed international petro-dollar arrangement put into place after the Bretton Woods gold-backed dollar system was chucked by Nixon in the early 1970s.

“In order to ensure their economic hegemony, and thereby preserve an increasing demand for the dollar, the Washington elites needed a plan. In order for this plan to succeed, it would require that the artificial dollar that had been lost in the wake of the Bretton Woods collapse be replaced through some other mechanism,” writes Jerry Robinson.

Now that this artificial mechanism is under serious challenge, the United States is lashing out, primarily at oil producers not part of the neoliberal club—Russia, China, Iran, and Venezuela. Meanwhile, Trump has a soft spot for the war criminal head-choppers in Saudi Arabia.

The US will continue its efforts to unseat the democratically-elected Nicolás Maduro and grab control of the world’s largest bounty of petroleum. Trump has an assignment handed down from on-high by the elite—forget Obama’s softball approach, the US is moving to violently ensure its control over the global economy.

In Venezuela this will not be much of a problem.

However, it’s a different story with Russia and China. Both nations are bristling with nukes. Invasions and coups will prove to be a deadly fool’s errand and may result in a nuclear winter that will make who owns the international petro-based economic system irrelevant.

AMERICANS LIVE IN A WORLD OF LIES

 |  |

The US government and the presstitutes that serve it continue to lie to us about everything. Today the Bureau of Labor Statistics told us that the unemployment rate was 3.9%. How can this be when the BLS also reports that the labor force participation rate has declined for a decade throughout the length of the alleged economic recovery and there is no upward pressure on wages from full employment. When jobs are plentiful, people enter the labor force to take advantage of the work opportunities. This raises the labor force participation rate. When employment is full—which is what a 3.9% unemployment rate means—wages are bid up as employers compete for scarce labor. Full employment with no wage pressure and no rise in the labor force participation rate is impossible.

The 3.9% unemployment rate is not due to employment. It results from not counting discouraged workers who have ceased to search for jobs because there are no jobs to be had. If an unemployed person is not actively searching for a job, he is not counted as being in the labor force. The way the unemployment rate is measured makes it a hoax.

The government tells us that there is essentially no inflation despite the fact that prices have been rising strongly—the price of food, the price of home repairs, the price of drugs, the price of almost everything. Two years ago the American Association of Retired People’s Public Policy Institute reported that the average retail drug price has been increasing “at a worrying pace of 10 percent a year, and about 20 drugs have astoundingly had their prices quadruple since just December. Sixty drugs doubled over the same period. Turing Pharmaceuticals, headed by Martin Shkreli, is one of the most pronounced examples of this kind of behavior. The company bought a lifesaving cancer medication only to increase its price from $13.50 to $750 per pill.”

Incomes, of course, have not doubled. In real terms incomes have declined. Moreover, expenditures on medicines are a huge percentage of the budgets of the elderly and those on Medicare. According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, the average annual cost of prescription medicines for the elderly accounts for three-fourths of the average Social Security pension and for about half of the median income of people who receive Medicare benefits.

Real jobs have also declined. The jobs that the financial presstitutes report to be unfilled are not jobs that provide a living. The BLS reported that the number of Americans working multiple jobs rose in July by 453,000, bringing the number of Americans who hold multiple part-time jobs to 8,072,000.

Looking at July’s payroll jobs report again we see the Third World complexion of the US work force. The alleged new jobs are concentrated in lowly paid domestic services: temporary help services, health care and social assistance, waitresses and bartenders.

There is scant sign of a vibrant economy, but high debt is everywhere. Debt is growing faster than the income needed to support it. The US government is on course for another $1 trillion annual budget deficit. The federal, state, and local tax base has been decimated by the global corporations’ export of high productivity high value-added manufacturing and professional skill jobs. In the name of “free trade” the tax base for Social Security, Medicare, and public pensions has been given away to China and other Asian countries where labor costs are low. The US global corporations make higher profits by shrinking the US tax base. Neoliberal economists defend this absurdity as “free trade” that benefits Americans.

The millions of Americans whose jobs were given away to foreigners know full well that they have not benefited. They know the story told by neoliberal economists and financial presstitutes is a lie.

The lies, of course, go far beyond the economic ones. Russiagate, which has dominated the print and TV media and NPR since the last presidential campaign is a massive lie that continues day after day. On August 3 the NPR presstitutes, for example, were smacking their lips over the prospect that Paul Manafort was on trial and might give special Russiagate prosecutor Robert Mueller a conviction that could lead to Trump’s removal from the White House. The presstitutes speculated that a convicted Manafort would tell on Trump in exchange for a lighter sentence.

The NPR presstitutes did not reveal that Manafort was not on trial for anything related in any way to Russiagate. Manafort is being tried on income tax evasion charges dating from a decade ago when he was a consultant to Ukrainian politicians. There is no doubt but that these are false charges whose purpose is to coerce Manafort into protecting himself by making false charges against Trump. If Manafort is convicted it will not be on the basis of any evidence. Manafort will be convicted by the presstitute media which will convince jurors that Manafort is “one of those rich who don’t pay taxes.”

That President Trump permits this witch-hunt to continue, a witch-hunt that far oversteps Mueller’s Russiagate mandate for which not a shred of evidence has been found, shows how the presstitutes working hand-in-hand with the military/security complex and DNC have disempowered the President of the United States. While Americans sit there sucking their thumbs, the coup against the President proceeds before their eyes.

Pranked Russian collusion!

LOL hilarious! Yes there was Russian collusion… pranked!

https://thehornnews.com/sean-hannity-wipes-the-floor-with-top-house-democrat/

Fox News’ Sean Hannity unloaded Monday on California Rep. Adam Schiff, a leading Democrat and chair of the House Intelligence Committee.

Schiff claimed over the weekend he had seen “plenty of evidence” that President Donald Trump had colluded with Russia in the 2016 election.

Hannity destroyed the claim with a simple question: So, where is it?

“Where is it? We’ve been looking for a long time,” Hannity demanded on his primetime show Monday. “We do have evidence of collusion, though… Russian collusion in plain sight. Alright, let’s look ‘Shiftless’ Schiff.”

Then, Hannity turned the entire story on it’s head with a killer point — Schiff is the one guilty of foreign collusion, not the president.

“He could easily be talking about himself. Remember when he tried to dig up dirt on President Trump from his own Russian sources!? It turns out he was being pranked by a Russian radio personality. He thought he was talking with the Russians. A conspiracy — a collusion with the Russians and we actually, Mr. Mueller, we have evidence,” Hannity said.

He then played a tape of Russian pranksters calling Schiff and claiming to have nude photos of Trump from January.

Schiff is heard on the tape saying he’d have staff follow-up on the offer.

“Collusion. Conspiracy. Russians. Tape. Proof! Where is the media outrage over the attempt to collude and conspire with Russia?” Hannity asked. “Or is it only a crime if a Republican is trying to dig up political dirt and opposition research on an opponent? This time we have the tape of the whole thing. Imagine if we had a tape of the meeting in Trump Tower …. which was about Russian adoption?”

It only keeps going from there. Take a look for yourself —

Ouch.

Hacker News: TSMC Chip Maker Blames WannaCry Malware for Production Halt

tsmc wannacry ransomware attack

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC)—the world’s largest makers of semiconductors and processors—was forced to shut down several of its chip-fabrication factories over the weekend after being hit by a computer virus.

Now, it turns out that the computer virus outbreak at Taiwan chipmaker was the result of a variant of WannaCry—a massive ransomware attack that wreaked havoc across the world by shutting down hospitals, telecom providers, and many businesses in May 2017.

TSMC shut down an entire day of production this weekend after several of its factories systems were halted by a computer virus in the middle of the ramp-up for chips to be used by Apple’s future lines of iPhones, which could impact revenue by approx $256 million.

According to the semiconductor manufacturer, its computer systems were not direct attacked by any hacker, but instead, were exposed to the malware “when a supplier installed tainted software without a virus scan” to TSMC’s network.

The virus then quickly spread to more than 10,000 machines in some of the company’s most advanced facilities, including Tainan, Hsinchu, and Taichung—home to some of the cutting-edge fabrication plants that produce semiconductors for Apple.

Although unnamed in its official statement, TSMC reportedly blamed a variant of the 2017 WannaCry ransomware attack for the infection.

“We are surprised and shocked,” TSMC CEO C.C. Wei said, “We have installed tens of thousands of tools before, and this is the first time this happened.”

Claimed to be developed and spread by North Korea, the WannaCry ransomware shut down hospitals, telecom providers, and many businesses worldwide, infecting hundreds of thousands of computers in over 150 countries within just 72 hours in May 2017.

The WannaCry victims included big names like Boeing, RenaultHondaFedEx and the UK’s National Health Service.

The WannaCry worm was leveraging an NSA’s Windows SMB exploit, known as EternalBlue, leaked by the infamous hacking group Shadow Brokers in its April data dump, along with other Windows exploits.

TSMC assured its customers that no confidential information was stolen, and said the company has resumed full operations at its facilities, but shipment delays are expected.

However, the chipmaker declined to discuss the implications for Apple, which is said to be ramping up production of 3 new iPhone models for this fall.

Besides being Apple’s sole supplier of SoC components for iPhones and iPads, TSMC also manufactures processors and other silicon chips for many of the industry’s biggest tech companies, including AMD, NVIDIA, Qualcomm, and others.
