The Great Dictator Speech – Charlie Chaplin

“Popular culture is a place where pity is called compassion, flattery is called love, propaganda is called knowledge, tension is called peace and gossip is called news.” –Criss Jami, Killosophy

“The receptivity of the masses is very limited, their intelligence is small, but their power of forgetting is enormous. In consequence of these facts, all effective propaganda must be limited to a very few points and must harp on these in slogans until the last member of the public understands what you want him to understand by your slogan.” –Adolf Hitler
“You can sway a thousand men by appealing to their prejudices quicker than you can convince one man by logic.” – Robert A. Heinlein, Revolt in 2100/Methuselah’s Children

“The American people are free to do exactly what they are told.” –
Ward Churchill

We don’t want to hate and despise one another

And this world has room for everyone, and the good Earth is rich and can provide for everyone
The way of life can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way
Greed has poisoned men’s souls, has barricaded the world with hate, has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed
We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in
Machinery that gives us abundance has left us in want

Our knowledge has made us cynincal
Our cleverness, hard and unkind
We think too much, and feel too little
More than machinery, we need humanity
More that cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness
Without these qualities life will be violent, and all will be lost

The aeroplane and the radio have brought us closer together
The very nature of these inventions cries out for the goodness in men – cries out for universal brotherhood – for the unity of us all
Even now my voice is reaching millions throughout the world – millions of despairing men, women, and little children – victims of a system that makes men torture and imprison innocent people
To those who can hear me, I say – do not despair
The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed – the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress
The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people
And so long as men die, liberty will never perish

Don’t give yourselves to brutes – men who despise you – enslave you – who regiment your lives – tell you what to do – what to think and what to feel!
Who drill you – diet you – treat you like cattle, use you as cannon fodder
Don’t give yourselves to these unnatural men – machine men with machine minds and machine hearts!

You are not machines!
You are not cattle!
You are men!
You have the love of humanity in your hearts!
You don’t hate!
Only the unloved hate – the unloved and the unnatural!

Don’t fight for slavery!
Fight for liberty!
In the 17th Chapter of St Luke it is written: “the Kingdom of God is within man” – not one man nor a group of men, but in all men!
In you!
You, the people have the power – the power to create machines
The power to create happiness!
You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure
Then – in the name of democracy – let us use that power – let us all unite
Let us fight for a new world – a decent world that will give men a chance to work – that will give youth a future and old age a security
By the promise of these things, brutes have risen to power
But they lie!
They do not fulfil that promise
They never will!
Dictators free themselves but they enslave the people!

Now let us fight to fulfil that promise!
Let us fight to free the world – to do away with national barriers – to do away with greed, with hate and intolerance
Let us fight for a world of reason, a world where science and progress will lead to all men’s happiness
In the name of democracy, let us all unite

The Real Looting Of America CNN Won’t Show You. w/Chris Hedges #TheJimmyDoreShow

Cyril O'Reilly
The mega-corporations who just looted our country of 6 trillion in free money from OUR government while consolidating their monopoly power to destroy millions of small businesses under the cover and the excuse of the Coronavirus pandemic are the REAL ECONOMIC TERRORIST. I’m sorry, but if you can’t figure out that these same economic terrorists (and the corporate ‘news’ media companies they own) are now actively exploiting the tragedy of systemic racism and public lynching of George Floyd to take the attention off of the fact that this two faced One-Party economic terrorist group called the Democratic & Republican party just looted and raped our entire nation — which is about send us into a decades long depression, greater than the Great Depression — then you’ve become corporate zombie and the virus eaten away your brain.
Mark Brodhead
When you’ve lost your job, running out of $$$ and your life savings are dwindling to the red,. When your behind on you’re rent or mortgage, struggling to pay all your household bills. When you’re collecting the loose change to go to the grocery store to buy food for your family or gas for your car. Ect….. you know its time to stop paying your taxes. Whats the point? Why? Because our politicians haven’t been working for us and they seem to becoming more wealth along w/ their corporate friends and raping we the minions of what little we have left.
when I was in the Marines we got a new supply office built in our warehouse. ALL of the furniture came from the FPI – Federal Prisons Industry – also known as UNICOR. Every box said “Federal Prisons Industries” like they were a fucking walmart… that was my first inkling as an 18 year old that the government might not be as altruistic as I once thought.
Its so crazy, the corporations and the elite are set up in a way that drive the destruction of society. You think you could just be happy being slightly less of a billionaire. There’s no contentment; there’s no sharing, they see no benefit in having the general population having a decent life. Just an endless drive towards the collection of wealth at any cost for seemingly no tangible reason. Most of the nation has bought into it. Humanity has long since left the building.
Nota Bene
“Conservatives say if you don’t give the rich more money, they will lose their incentive to invest. As for the poor, they tell us they’ve lost all incentive because we’ve given them too much money.” ― George Carlin
Jon A It’s weird to me that neoliberals started this messaging about inter-sectionalism that was all about every oppressed class based on race, gender, sexual orientation, disability etc. but not socioeconomic class (which heavily intersects with all the others). And then used it as a cudgel to shut down any discussion of income inequality as a distraction from other forms of discrimination. Let’s not adopt their framing: it’s about race AND class. Philando Castile, Breonna Taylor, Eric Garner and so many other victims of racial violence were also facing the ordinary injustices of all working people. Police target black people in part as a source of revenue, as they did with Garner multiple times before they killed him. Politicians who, as Malcolm X said, mouth pretty words about racial justice without doing anything about economic injustice (or police brutality, private prisons, civil asset forfeiture etc.) don’t believe a word they say. Remember that imperialists and plantation owners all used divide and conquer tactics to keep their power
